Exodus 34-35:1-9; Matthew 27:15-31; Psalms 33:12-22; Proverbs 9:1-6
“All the people answered, ‘His blood is on us and on our Children!’” (Matthew 27:25 NIV)
Father God, thank you that the Israelites spoke the truth that day, truer than in any way they could have meant. Father, thank you that Jesus blood is upon us–thank you that it cleanses us, purifies us, takes our sinfulness and makes us righteous. Father, what a gift you gave us that day. We could never deserve it, and yet you gave it to us freely. You bless us beyond measure.
Jesus, thank you for taking my sin upon your back. Thank you that your blood covers me and that you became my sacrificial lamb. Thank you for being willing to take on the burden so that I can be united forever with you. Jesus, thank you for the gift of your sanctifying blood.
Father God, thank you for the reminder of your love and devotion to your people. Thank you for being my God, my creator, and my best friend. Amen
